Superior Thermal Performance
Vacuum insulated glass units use a vacuum to insulate against external temperatures. Heat can not transfer through a vacuum as there are no particles such as air or gas molecules to transfer across. The depth of vacuum is irrelevant to the science so allows for a thin finish, which to us means just a 0.15mm gap is sufficient. This means only micro spacers are required to keep the two pieces of glass apart and maintain the integrity of the vacuum and also only a thin edge seal. We have invented and use clear ceramic micro spacers to maintain our gap and to radically reduce any polka dot effects that our competitors suffer from.
Fire-proof, Sound-proof and Bullet-proof Options
We now live in an age where safety is paramount, so we manufacture our own fire-proof clear vacuum insulated glass units, where intumescent (fire-proof,) glass is required. We can cater for all levels of fire protect glass as vacuum units. We also cater for sound proof vacuum glass units and our standard units will have a sound reduction of Rw [C;Ctr] 41Db [-2; -3] but this can be increased to any level desired. We offer bullet-proof vacuum insulated units for when security is required and supply all levels up to blast-proof, all whilst retaining a U value of 0.48 W/m2K.
Prevent Condensation
Werkman Tech UK vacuum insulated glass units do not have a dew point and therefore do not generate internal condensation. Because our units are insulated they adapt to the buildings internal core temperature and prevent cold spots, which eliminates condensation forming on the internal glass surface. This is one of the main reasons that bodies such as Historic England and English, Scottish and Welsh Heritage prefer vacuum units over all other options for historic windows of both timber and steel.
The Green Option
By choosing vacuum insulated glass units you are choosing the green option. Incredibly low U values mean far less heating requirements in colder climates and less air conditioning in hotter climates. Your alternatives are slimline, double and triple glazing which all use either argon or Krypton gas, use silicones and mastics with plastic spacers to seal them, have much higher U values so are far less thermally efficient and triple glazing uses 33% more glass. Finally all three options will need replacing at least five to ten times when matched against the life span of vacuum glass.
Longer Lifespan
Unlike other vacuum glass manufacturers Werkman Tech offers our unique low temperature sealing technology and has successfully solved the problems of tempered/toughened glass annealing during production, ensuring a much higher vacuum and leading to an even longer life span than any competitor. Our vacuum insulated glass units are guaranteed for 25 years and have an expected life span of over 50 years.
Solar Glass Options
Forging ahead in the world of glass technology we manufacture Werkman Tech Solar Glass in vacuum units. This means that your clear glass windows can now start producing electricity for you. We manufacture our own windows and doors, which are Passive House Institute Certified Components, and which we call the Werkman GVG90 range and accepts our Solar Glass. The Solar Glass Units are clear, have a U value of 0.48 W/m2K and an output of up to 125 W/m2.
Double and Triple Glazing Replacement
In the battle for a greener planet and our throw away society we looked at the waste produced by short term products like slim-line, double and triple glazing. They have a life span between 1 year and 10 years and need to be replaced to maintain their U values. This means every year billions of units are thrown away and replaced. To combat this and without the need to replace adequate existing window frames, we have developed vacuum insulated glass replacement units for all sizes of slimline, double and triple glazing. They will last for the remaining life of the frames up to thirty years, whilst still maintaining its U value of 0.48 W/m2K.

Add to that an airtight seal, which keeps all of the drafts out and all of the heat or cool in, minimizing heating or air conditioning costs and associated pollution. Next, an RC3 grade security locking system will keep even the professional burglars out and also bring your insurance quotes down.
Finally, it uses our vacuum insulated glass units, and also our thicker vacuum solar glass units, and secretly houses the associated electrical wiring with a side feed for your supply, when solar is required.
